Jimmy Kynes’ commitment to the provision of pro bono services in the community is reflected by and continues through the efforts of the recipients of the Jimmy Kynes Pro Bono Award. Outstanding Pro Bono Service Domestic Violence Assistance Project Hillsborough County Bar Association's Kimmy Kynes Award Wallace B. Anderson, Jr. is a sole practitioner specializing in real property, probate, guardianship, and tax matters. Mr. Anderson has been a volunteer with the Bay Area Volunteer Lawyers Program since 1994. He has donated nearly 100 hours helping indigent clients with probate, guardianship, and tax cases. Danelle Dykes Barksdale is a member of the law firm of Jeanne T. Tate, P.A., and specializes in adoption matters. As a volunteer for Bay Area’s Volunteer Lawyers Program since 1993, she has donated more than 100 hours representing indigent clients in adoption cases. In addition to representing pro bono clients, Ms. Barksdale has donated more than 100 hours interviewing and advising applicants at Bay Area’s client intake sessions, providing adoption trainings for Bay Area staff, and mentoring less experienced volunteer attorneys handling adoption cases. Gayle P. Carlson is a sole practitioner specializing in environmental law. Since 2003, she has participated in the Domestic Violence Assistance Project and contributed more than 100 hours assisting victims of domestic violence complete the forms required to obtain injunctive relief. Vitauts M. Gulbis is a member of Akerman Senterfitt. His practice focuses on estate planning, corporate, and tax matters. He has participated in Bay Area’s Community Counsel Program since 1996. As a volunteer, he has donated nearly 100 hours providing corporate and tax assistance to small nonprofits that primarily serve indigent residents or low-income communities. Lee D. Gunn, IV founded the Gunn Law Group and focuses his trial practice on personal injury, product liability, and medical malpractice. Mr. Gunn has volunteered for the Volunteer Lawyers Program since 1984. Over the years, he has handled 17 pro bono cases and donated 150 hours representing indigent clients in consumer, auto negligence, torts, employment, and contract matters. Thomas N. Hyde is the National Director of Training for Liberty Mutual Insurance. He has been a volunteer for Ask A Lawyer since May 2003. The project, a joint effort of the Hillsborough County Bar Association and FOX 13 News, is a monthly call-in program staffed solely by volunteer attorneys. Mr. Hyde has donated nearly 100 hours providing legal information and assistance to callers. A. Woodson Isom, Jr. is a sole practitioner specializing in personal injury, wrongful death, and insurance disputes. As a volunteer attorney for the Volunteer Lawyers Program since 1987, he has handled 13 pro bono cases and donated nearly 100 hours assisting indigent clients with collection, contract, auto license, tort, and auto negligence matters. Ronnie James is an Assistant Public Defender for the Office of the Public Defender. Mr. James has volunteered for William F. Jung is a founder of Jung & Sisco, P.A., and his trial practice includes civil, criminal, and appellate matters. Mr. Jung has participated in the Volunteer Lawyers Program’s case referral panel since 1994. He has donated nearly 200 hours representing pro bono clients in contract, collection, and homeownership matters. Mark P. Kelly is a partner with Lopez & Kelly and focuses his practice on family law matters and general civil litigation. Mr. Kelly has been a volunteer with the Volunteer Lawyers Program since 1995. He has handled 12 pro bono family law cases and donated nearly 100 hours helping indigent clients with divorce and custody disputes. Dennis E. Mannelli is a partner with Phelps Dunbar LLP. His practice focuses on probate and real property matters. Mr. Manelli has volunteered for the Volunteer Lawyers Program since 1990. Over the years, he has handled 11 pro bono cases and donated nearly 100 hours assisting indigent clients with probate and real property issues.
