Legacy Giving: Safeguarding Stability, Igniting Innovation
Much of Bay Area Legal Services’ annual funding comes from grants, leaving our programs vulnerable during economic downturns. Legacy giving funds our endowment with the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay, which serves as our financial “safety net.”
In addition, the endowment will allow us to develop innovative programs, serving as an incubator for new legal services to meet the needs of our community. Legacy giving benefits our community for generations.
Giving to BALS can align well with your financial and estate planning goals. Legacy giving can be as simple as including a bequest in your will or adding BALS as a beneficiary on a life insurance policy or retirement asset. You may also want to consider options that donate to BALS while providing income to you during your lifetime.
While providing a lasting legacy of caring, compassion, and access to justice for your community, you may enjoy tax deductions as well as a lifetime membership in our Legacy for Justice Society. Members are recognized in our publications and events, receive periodic updates on BALS, and can be confident that their legacy helps the most vulnerable in our community.
